Classic Salisbury steak with rich mushroom gravy.

Ingredients

  • Ground beef: 1 pound
  • Onion: 1/2, chopped
  • Breadcrumbs: 1/2 cup
  • Egg: 1, beaten
  • Worcestershire sauce: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt: To taste
  • Black pepper: To taste
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Mushrooms: 8 ounces, sliced
  • Beef broth: 1 cup
  • Flour: 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form into patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Brown patties.
  4. Remove patties. Add mushrooms to skillet and cook.
  5. Whisk flour into the skillet.
  6. Pour in beef broth, stirring until thickened.
  7. Return patties to the gravy. Simmer.
